Modern is always trendy, but in today’s digital age there is a longing for simpler times. Hence, a little vintage inspiration. In the example above, here’s a very modern living room with a great vintage poster, romanticizing travel – before security lines and always connected cell phones. A time when you could truly get away!

 

2. Matte Finishes

High gloss is out and matte is in. Whether it is your dining room wall, SUV, or in this case, your mini outdoor grill. A matte finish puts a modern twist on anything.

 

3. Marble

Ok, these statues may not be actual marble – they’re resin – but they look like marble and they are really cool! Marble is a heavy material that needs a professional to sculpt and it can add a level of sophistication, luxury, and old world style to any room it is in.

 

 

4. Jewels

Bling, Bling! What says that more than jewels?

 

 

5. Hygge

Pronounced “hoo-ga,” this Danish concept cannot be translated to one single word but encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life. What’s more cozy than a big blanket?

 

6. Smart Home

Our homes are becoming smarter and more interconnected every day. That progress shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. However, a smart home does not need to be connected to the internet to be smart. Take these solar lights for example. They don’t need to be plugged in and can go anywhere to light up the night. Pretty smart to us.

 

7. Ceramics

Like handmade jewelry or furniture made of reclaimed wood, ceramics are the new symbol of authentic decor. Small, simple pieces can add just the right crafted touch to any room.
